We desire to create an educational atmosphere that students will love being around. Our programs are intended to empower students to tackle challenges and take on experiences that may be new to them. Mponela Community Day Secondary School, we are constantly striving to make learning fun and dynamic so that all of our students can accomplish their goals.

SCHOOL PROFILE
Mponela CDSS was established in 1994 under the headship of Mr. Davie Mandala. Then, the school had only four teachers. Madam Magai was the only female teacher. The school established itself to the current place on 15th April, when MASAF erected two blocks of two classrooms each. The school had only a single stream. The enrolment was 240 students but the capacity of the school was 200 students. In 2010, the African Development Bank through the Ministry of Education Science and Technology constructed four large Classrooms, a Laboratory, Administration Block, Latrines, a Library and a Brick face around the structures.
Currently, the school has 24 teachers, six HODs, a Head teacher and two Deputy Head teachers. The school has the capacity of 800 students with double shifts, 400 students per shift, taking 200 girls and 200 boys per shift. Total enrollment is 400 girls and 400 boys but the actual enrollment is 548 students, 300 boys and 248 girls.

Mponela Community Day Secondary School provides students with a creative and comfortable learning atmosphere. Located at Mponela Trading center in Dowa district, our school has been shaping students’ minds since 1994. We are privileged to teach over 400 students with our outstanding teaching staff , all eager to pass on their knowledge and experience.
